PROTEIN

When looking at any type of food, naturally occurring varieties are where you want your focus to be. Let’s start with Protein and why it’s so important. Besides supporting your immune system, protein also helps you shed fat and pack on muscle.

It helps you stay full and repairs your body, when injured or run down.

Good sources of protein are lean meats like:

Turkey Breast, Pork Tenderloin, Lean cuts of Beef and Chicken Breast

Fishes like: Cod, Salmon, Haddock, Mussels, Scallops and Clams, and

plant sources like: Tofu, Beans & Chickpeas to name a few.

Protein - Chicken is 1 example

Action Steps:

  1. Make sure to replenish protein stores as soon as possible after fasting(sleep) and after exertion(exercise)

  2. Try to have a minimum of 1-2 “deck of cards sized” portions of protein with every meal

  3. Try to vary your protein sources when possible, exploring meat, fish and plant sources, aiming for fresh lean varieties
